Bring on the footy! (2020 Footy Tipping)

The Footy season has already started with AFLW off and running. We launched our famous Footy Tipping for this year at our meeting on 26 February at the Manningham Club. Former Essendon great and Captain Ken Fraser, was our guest speaker on this night. Our Footy tipping is a joint competition between our 3 clubs - Doncaster, Manningham and Templestowe, and friends of the members. Each year, we select a local charity to support with this activity.

President's Message - February

Great to see everyone back after a long break. Our club through our fund raising will be sending donations to the East Gippsland Rotary Fire appeal. There has been some concern in the media about Bushfire donations not getting to those in need straight away when donating to large organisations. We are assured that when we send direct to the Bairnsdale Rotary club that is co ordinating the East Gippsland Bushfire appeal that the monies will be used almost immediately for those in need.

Women's Friendship Group - Helen Jurcevic OAM

Have you heard about the great work that the Women's Friendship Group (WFG) do in our community? Founded in 2006 by Helen Jurcevic OAM, the group is a non-denominational, non-political, multicultural group for women from diverse cultural backgrounds in Manningham. The WFG has women from 33 diverse cultures who meet in friendship and harmony on a monthly basis, either for a morning tea or lunch.

Update: Rotary response to Bushfires

A quick update on the Rotary response to the Bushfires in Victoria, from our sister clubs in East Gippsland. The five Rotary Clubs of East Gippsland have come together and formed a Fire Aid Committee, pooling their collective resources to be a greater force. 100% of all funds raised will be used to benefit the East Gippsland community ....
