Covid-19 Advice

Covid-19 Advice

24 March 2020

Dear Members and Friends of the Rotary Club of Templestowe,

The health and safety of our members, friends and guests, is a high priority for us. In keeping with the Victorian Department of Health guidelines, we will continue to follow the advice issued by the Government with regard to the Coronavirus. These are trying times and with the shutdown of non-essential services and businesses it is difficult to predict what is going to occur in the next few weeks and months.

As members are aware, the Board has cancelled all events and Club Meetings until further advice. At our next meeting on 20 April, we will review the position in the light of the then advice from the Victorian Government. Given recent information it is likely that this ban on events and meetings will be extended. For your own protection, please ensure that you follow the advice from the Victorian Government and the Department of Health. The following are the key issues:

Any members who have or are travelling to or through any of the following countries will need to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Iran, China, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Mongolia and any other countries added as being high risk by the Department of Health.

If you have had any contact with a known positive case of COVID-19 or a person who is under quarantine or self-isolation awaiting confirmation testing, you should also self-quarantine for at least 14 days after the contact was made.

If you have been confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 you should follow all medical advice regarding quarantine requirements and clearance.

If you have any fever, cough, flu-like symptoms or are feeling unwell you should seek medical advice and self-quarantine.

When away from your home be sure to adopt the physical distancing recommendations of 1.5 metres.

We will continue to monitor the situation and modify our practices in line with recommendations from the relevant authorities as they become available, and we will keep you informed. For general information and guidance, visit the Australian Government Department of Health Website and the Victorian Government Health Department Website. Attached is the latest advice regarding self-Assessment for your risk and identifying symptoms. If you have any concerns, call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398
