Winter started off full of promise with a nice stretch of beautiful sunny days. How quickly things have changed! With the recent outbreak, we’ve had to cancel or postpone a couple of events, though we’ll likely see loosening of restrictions from next week onwards. I’m hopeful that we will be able to enjoy each other’s company during our Changeover celebration a month from now. We farewell The Three Musketeers and welcome Luke Bastian as our President on Saturday July 3rd. Despite the twists and turns of the last twelve months, we’ve grown and achieved so much as a club, and this will truly be an evening of celebration.
A Melbourne Autumn is really something to behold, and I hope you have had the opportunity to enjoy this! We’re off to a quick start in May. Our Doncaster Hill Market was held on Sunday May 2 and it was the cover story featured on the newly launched Manningham Life community magazine. The magazine was distributed to 20,000 households in Manningham, and this helped to draw quite a number of new visitors to the market. If you would like to read the cover story on the market, you can view the online version here.
Our new Manningham Community Directory is now live and ready for business! This is the next phase of our Connecting Manningham initiative, and the aim is to connect local residents to local businesses and organisations. It's a free service for locals - just go to connectingmanningham.com.au and click on "Add listing".
Greetings friends and colleagues, I trust you enjoyed the recent long Easter weekend - I'm all refreshed for a busy April ahead! Our first April gathering last Wednesday was a different take on our regular "Member Behind the Badge" evening. It was a special night with several of us sharing our musical talents. Andrew McFarland and myself entertained with several songs by the Beatles and Neil Diamond, and the audience jumped in with some enthusiastic singing!
