Tony Monley, OAM, 21 years service

Tony Monley has been a member of our club for a total of 21 years. His service was broken twice due to work postings but he has always returned. Prior to that Tony was a member of Rotaract and Apex and was Rotary GSE Team Leader in 2010 taking a team to Turkey.

Outside Rotary, Tony has done a lot of pro bono work including being President of Doncare, and Treasurer of Onemda, to name a few.

He has received a number of including: Manningham Citizen of the year in 2014 and in 2016 was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia General Division (OAM).

Tony was District Governor in the 2015/16 year and continues to hold a number of positions in the District and will be Vice Governor for DG Russell Gurney in this coming Rotary year.

Within our club Tony has held the role of Secretary and Treasurer and was Club President in 2010/11.

Tony was also one of the founding Board members of Art Building Children’s Dreams (ABCD) in 2009, a flagship international project of our club, and has remained a member of its Board for the entire 9 years of its operation under the Rotary Club of Templestowe.

Tony and Kathy have been closely involved with Youth Exchange and have home-hosted 11 Youth Exchange students.

In the last few years Tony has made major contributions to the club including heavy work for the club’s annual Finns Family Festival, Bunnings BBQs and the High Tea and is always willing to put in and help with events and activities.

Tony has made the decision to leave the Rotary Club of Templestowe and join the Rotary Club of Manningham.

We thank Tony for the substantial contribution he has made to our club over the past 21 years and wish him every success for her future in Rotary.s
