Well, what a month November was.
Let’s start with the Manningham Family Festival at Finns Reserve on Sunday 17th November.
It was a fantastic event with a new stall layout centred around the stage and a huge undercover viewing and eating area for the public.
Over 3,600 people came through the gates, and that’s not counting stall holders, and other helpers.
The weather started off overcast and drizzly but the sun came out in the afternoon and so did the masses of people.
Congratulations to the Festival committee of Keith Anderson, Rod Simkiss, David Shrimpton, Ken Sharpe, Brian Negus, Felix Wong, Dan Hession, Michael Mimmo, Janis McFarland and the Rotaractors plus the many helpers on the day.
We also had a live radio broadcast by radio station 96.5 inner FM + many new on stage acts.
The camels failed to arrive, but that in the end did not affect the success of the 16th Manningham Family Festival at Finns.
We had a wind down dinner at the local Ichiban Japanese Restaurant for a Teppanyaki dinner experience on the Wednesday meeting after the Festival.
A lot of fun was had at that dinner with members catching egg omelette and other things. Thank you to the Fellowship committee of James Cunningham.
DG Shia Smart visited our club on November 6th.
We had a surprise visit at our meeting on 13.11.19 by French exchange student , Thomas, from 10 years ago. Thomas brought us up to date with what he is doing and his memories of our club 10 years ago. John Mudgway provided a photo of Thomas when he was 15 and a photo of all members of the club taken 10 years ago.
Interesting to see what we all looked like 10 years ago.
Other things happening in November were the District Primary School Speech competition on 26th November . We had 2 candidates in this event
Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner was on 29th November where a number of our club members were involved .
December is coming up and it too is going to be a busy month with , Doncare toy library, Odyssey House Christmas function , Carols by Candlelight Hamburger stand , Bunnings BBQ, and our end of the year Christmas Break up .
Have a great month in Rotary!
