Aquatic wheelchair for Onemda

At our recent Spring Racing evening, we presented a cheque for $1,400 to Simon Lewis CEO of Onemda, being funds raised from our Annual Footy Tipping competition between our 3 cluster clubs (Manningham, Doncaster and Templestowe).

Onemda is a centre for learning and therapeutic development for people with a disability. Based in Doncaster East, they are committed to delivering high quality services to their participants.

The funds raised have been used to purchase a Pool and Wet Area Chair, pictured above.

Designed and manufactured in Australia by Para Mobility, it is a lightweight, rustproof, self-propelled wheel chair designed to be fully immersed in salt, chlorinated or fresh water.

It is lightweight and made from quality furniture grade PVC, which will not absorb the heat if left out in the sun, thus preventing accidental burns, while the strong open weave fabric allows passage of air and water.

Onemda is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and Rotary is very proud to be able to help Onemda with the work that it does in our community.
