Regular readers will recall that we have set our target for funds to be raised for the Shade Sail Project for the Bulleen Heights School.
Success with the Bendigo Community Bank Grants program has delivered a further $8,000 to our fundraising efforts
A focused project this year will be our support for Bulleen Heights School. Bulleen Heights has a population of 250 students and the school is a selective school, enrolling only students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
In 2017 the natural shade in the school grounds was suddenly destroyed when the trees were removed due to significant safety concerns.
This has made it very difficult for the school to operate over summer in a responsible and sun smart way. The solution – until Mother Nature regrows the trees, is sun shades. Our Club will be a partner to the school community to raise the funds required to provide the sun shades for the school.
We will publish our progress each month, and if you would like to join us in making this project a reality, please drop us a line with how you would like to become involved. Raising the funds for the project is our first priority.
