Message from our Club President (May 23)

Last Wednesday night our club made a major decision and breakthrough. Facilitated by President Elect Dan Hession, our club took what we learned from our session on 2 May 2018 and had discussions on our options for the future.

What was decided that some changes need to be made in our club but that they will be changes for the better. Over the years we have added more and more activities to our portfolio and it is now time to rationalise them and to work ‘smarter’ for our community.

This is a very exciting time to be a member of the Rotary Club of Templestowe and we are all looking forward to a great year in 2018/2019 with our Presidents Dan, Keith and Bruce.

Last Tuesday our club was represented at the breakfast launch of the Manningham Business Excellence Awards. This was an excellent event attended by all four City of Manningham Rotary Clubs. This event is now in its 6th year and has moved from strength to strength during that time.

On Sunday our club members attended the District 9810 Assembly in preparation for the 2018/2019 year. Our late member Erik Rubens was remembered at the commencement of this event. We heard about the new theme for 2018/19 – “BE THE INSPIRATION”, a theme that seems very appropriate for our club in the coming year.

Yours in Rotary “Making a Difference”,

Janis McFarland
Club President
