It was a great pleasure to welcome the Hon Kevin Andrews MP, Member for Menzies, to speak at our club meeting on Wednesday April 4th. Kevin told us about the inner workings of his political party and how his portfolio offers have come about for him.
He also told us about some of his experiences in government and the issues his committee faces with the implementation of NDIS, before opening the meeting up to questions.
We did manage to surprise him however, even leaving him ‘lost for words’ when he was
presented with a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition for all the assistance and support he and his office has provided to the Rotary Club of Templestowe over many years. In fact, by interesting coincidence, Kevin’s time in the seat of Menzies for the last 28 years is the same length of time that our club has been running our Schools ANZAC Service. This is one of our projects that Kevin’s office has consistently provided a great deal of assistance with.
Yours in Rotary “Making a Difference”,
