We are delighted to report that three club members received Menzies Community Australia Day Awards which were presented by the Hon. Kevin Andrews MP, Federal Member for Menzies.
Congratulations to Graham Kane who was nominated for his award by the Rotary Club of Templestowe AND St Mark’s Anglican Church!
“Graham is a Past President of Templestowe Rotary and has been a member since 1994. Over the 24-year-period, he has provided tremendous support to the community by regularly volunteering at various events. As a former auctioneer, Graham also brings
his unique blend of skills and humour to fundraising events, enticing all to dig a little deeper in support of community causes”.
Congratulations to Helen Lewtas who was nominated for this award by the Rotary Club of Templestowe.
“Helen is an Honorary Member of Templestowe Rotary and has been associated with the club for many years through the membership of her late husband, Pete. She is a tireless contributor to the community, regularly volunteering at various events. In recent years, Helen has been a prime mover in a niche fundraising effort where Rotary recycles and sells used stamps to collectors for different community causes”.
Congratulations to Rosina Cincotta who was nominated for this award by Doncare Community Services.
“Rosina is an avid volunteer, volunteering her time with St Vincent de Paul Society and through her membership of the Rotary Club of Templestowe as well as with Doncare. At Doncare, Rosina was quick to put up her hand to volunteer in the area of provision of food to members of our local community. This work requires the tasks of massive organisation and coordination in the stocking, storage and distribution of donated food
items. Without Rosina and her colleagues’ assistance, paid Doncare staff would face additional pressures on their workload. On the contrary, the hard work of the volunteers like Rosina enables Doncare staff to better attend to clients who are in need of their support and expertise.
